Where's your blog gone, Onna?
Joules thinks she's taken on too much again? *smirk* You have to learn how to say 'NO', sinam... (Don't growl at me, I know it's not that simple : )

Another eight hours, aijin. Minimum. I want the bulbs to settle before anyone goes into the water again. After that [shrugs] - well, they're best not disturbed too much, but since I planted them at our side and close to the bower, I imagine they'll be fine...
[smirks] As for posting Ambassador - heh, you think I have any control over the ningen? She won't listen to me... And given all the illustrations she wants to do for it... (Though when she'll find the time I have no idea.)
[inclines head, pondering, then shrugs] I'm not bothered. After all, she's written about the rest of the family in great detail, I suppose it's our turn..

[The bulbs are in? AYA! Thank you, aijin! When can we go swimming?]
I got my first birthday card yesterday, from OkapiPrincess. It's so cute, it's got fishies on it! She's cross with herself cos she sent it to me early.
Don't think of if at getting the date wrong, OP, think of it as being super-organised! (Yes, I can find the 'up' angle in most things, why do you ask? *grin* I think it's cos of my enlarged 'sunny optimism' gland...)
Joules showed me the coloured versions of her Dystopia portraits. They're very good, really bring the chara's to life for me. Cloudie is damn close to how I see her in my mind. Joules said there was something about the Devon pic that was bothering her though - the first thing I noticed was that he looked like Joules...
She can't see it, but it's there, I'm not imagining it - it's in the shape and angle of his eyes. Judge for yourself when she eventually posts them *sporkspork*
The cubs are telling me they're going to clean up their room on the weekend.
I'm not being outwardly sceptical, heavens no, wouldn't want to discourage my babies, but I'll believe it when I see it.
What prompted the notion? Not me falling over and hurting myself - one of them wants to sleep on the floor and I quite reasonably pointed out he can't do that until the floor's clear...
Heh, Joule's birthday fic is close to completion.
[Are we sure we want this posted, aijin, it's very.. personal.]

[smirks, glancing at the remains of the uniform] It was in the way - I wanted what was underneath... Anyway, you have much more... interesting things to wear, aijin.
[soaring upwards, hovering high overhead, gazing down and around at the rich landscape laid out below] *Your home is beautiful, zkai'din. I'm honoured to be allowed to share it with you. Thank you.*

[*pout* Well that's the kawaii pink waitresss uniform ruined... I knew you didn't like it, aijin, but still - and it wasn't even you wearing it! *smirk* There were compensations, however...
Hey, the map's great! It really shows how much space there is here.. lots of open space for swooping and soaring, and the thermals rising up from the mountains are just perfect! *happy sigh* Can spend hours up there. The walks on the beach and through the forest are lots of fun too, though I should advise anyone other than 'lestrel and myself against going there cos Ghryff is even more territorial than I am...]

Ow ow ow!
I hurt myself.
Walking in the pig-sty which is the cubs' room, in the dark, I tripped on something, fell and scraped my shin and wrist. Stings like hell. Heh, think I scared the cubs though - it's not often I swear in front of them - doubt it'll make them any more likely to tidy up.
Soulsis has decided I need some clothes - she's right, actually - so she's organised for Niki and herself to make me some. I got a skirt today, simple, straight, made from this wunnerful heavy, soft, black stretchy material. 'S really nice! Feels lovely - might even wear it out of the house...
Don't know who this is.. and the questions in this quiz were just silly...

[climbs from pool, shaking water from mane and tail and reaching for drying cloth] Right, that's done. I can plant the tubers in three days. [glares towards Lemon Tree] I'd better be able to plant up in three days...
Heh, the ningen wants to post her birthday story in the Zone. After she's illustrated it, that is. [smirks at tenshi] That'll be fun. After all, it's the story of how we first met...

I really like dolly mixture.
I eat the jelly ones first, in colour groups, then I eat the limey fondants, then the lemony ones, then the orangey, berryey, strawberry and finally the chocolatey ones... mmmm....
Does anybody remember the punky girl-group, the Dolly Mixtures? They sang back up to Captain Sensible on his solo album. No reason for that comment other than to show off my knowledge of mid-eighties UK pop... *g*
Hee, just had a sneak preview of Joule's R/Jeice pic... awwww! ^~^ (and even though it's not especially explicit... phwooar!)
How soon can we organise that artists thing, do you think, Onna? *g*
Hee, next AC chapter started, next Dystopia ready to start, Joule's birthday fic almost done, Shinju/Okami fic started... original thingy thought about... busy busy busy...

Oh, WOW!! Joules, that's absolutely wonderful! And the portraits of the Dystopia charas are very good too! Cloudie is pretty much how I envisioned her... So where are the rest of the pics?
*GLOMPS* Welcome back, by the way. Did you have a good time? *g*

[eases self carefully into pool, wincing] What have I been doing to myself? Well...
I went back to that vahanah merchant - he's sneaky, that one, and I wondered if he had kept any tubers back. Turns out he had. Just seven of them, but that's enough to create a good show. Problem was, these really are the last ones available in the galaxy - and the price was higher than last time. [winces] And he'd learnt a few new tricks...
The water needs to be prepared - 75 (terran) hours undisturbed while the micro-organisms multiply, then another 13 for the bulbs to settle. I'd like to get the process started tomorrow - tell your friends to stay away from the pond for five days. After that the water will be safe to swim in, even to drop little bits of food in for the fish - but no chemicals, no salt, nothing oily, and nothing acidic (like lemon juice). Have them ask if they're unsure. [growls] Anything goes wrong this time and I will kill.
[floating, water soothing weals and aches, eyes closing] It's good to be home. I'll wait here for you...

OK, I have no idea who this is...
![[i'm dean thomas]](http://atypically.net/hp/images/dean.jpg)
...and which lesser Harry Potter character are you?
Congrats! You're Gryffindor fourth-year Dean Thomas!
At first glance, there might not be too much to set you apart from the rest. On closer examination, however, it's easy to see that you're laidback, artistic, and as loyal as any Hufflepuff. Best of all, your biggest argument in three years has been about why the people in your posters don't move .
(Your moment of glory - so far, at least - comes any time Gryffindor House needs some notable decorations.)
(... and OkapiPrincess? I can't read latin... : / )
Okapi icq'd me later with this...
//Dean Thomas is a Muggle Born and likes some sort of football club and they make fun of him because he put up posters in the dorm of these "footballers" and the pics don't move... ugh can't remember any more than that //

[*intrigued and worried now* What have you been doing to yourself? You can tell me alllll about it when you get home - once you've got your breath back that is... ^~^]
Well, that was a quiet weekend - didn't even leave the house to go shopping.
KittenKong has left a very dead mouse outside my bedroom two nights in a row now. Fair enough they may not be intended for me, it might just be a convenient place to dispatch them, but I have to watch where I'm walking first thing in the morning instead of stumbling about half-asleep as I usually do.
Joules emailed me, the tease. She's not only drawn Devon and Lutra-tenshi but Cloudie, Stephan and Ox, and another Benten pic for Lure. Humph, and I don't get to see any of them until she gets home and scans them...
Onna, so how long do you think it'll take to finish this story of yours?
[Aijin, just a word of warning, I've given Sage permission to play in the pond so don't be surprised if you see him there. However, you've thoroughly spooked the chibi so I don't imagine he'll hang about when you're around... *g*]

Hee, Peter sent me this. I laughed...
//A letter to the London Observer from Terry Jones (yes, of Monty Python).
Letter to the Observer - Sunday January 26, 2003
I'm really excited by George Bush's latest reason for bombing Iraq: he's running out of patience. And so am I! For some time now I've been really pissed off with Mr Johnson, who lives a couple of doors down the street.
Well, him and Mr Patel, who runs the health food shop. They both give me queer looks, and I'm sure Mr Johnson is planning something nasty for me, but so far I haven't been able to discover what.
I've been round to his place a few times to see what he's up to, but he's got everything well hidden. That's how devious he is. As for Mr
Patel, don't ask me how I know, I just know - from very good sources - that he is, in reality, a Mass Murderer. I have leafleted the street telling them that if we don't act first, he'll pick us off one by one. Some of my neighbours say, if I've got proof, why don't I go to the police? But that's simply ridiculous. The police will say that they need evidence of a crime with which to charge my neighbours. They'll come up with endless red tape and quibbling about the rights and wrongs of a pre-emptive strike and all the while Mr Johnson will be finalising his plans to do terrible things to me, while Mr Patel will be secretly murdering people.
Since I'm the only one in the street with a decent range of automatic firearms, I reckon it's up to me to keep the peace. But until recently that's been a little difficult. Now, however, George W. Bush has made it clear that all I need to do is run out of patience, and then I can wade in and do whatever I want!
And let's face it, Mr Bush's carefully thought-out policy towards Iraq is the only way to bring about international peace and security. The one certain way to stop Muslim fundamentalist suicide bombers targeting the US or the UK is to bomb a few Muslim countries that have never threatened us.
That's why I want to blow up Mr Johnson's garage and kill his wife and children. Strike first! That'll teach him a lesson. Then he'll leave
us in peace and stop peering at me in that totally unacceptable way.
Mr Bush makes it clear that all he needs to know before bombing Iraq is that Saddam is a really nasty man and that he has weapons of mass destruction - even if no one can find them. I'm certain I've just as much justification for killing Mr Johnson's wife and children as Mr Bush has for bombing Iraq.
Mr Bush's long-term aim is to make the world a safer place by eliminating 'rogue states' and 'terrorism'.
It's such a clever long-term aim because how can you ever know when you've achieved it? How will Mr Bush know when he's wiped out all terrorists?
When every single terrorist is dead? But then a terrorist is only a terrorist once he's committed an act of terror. What about would-be terrorists?
These are the ones you really want to eliminate, since most of the known terrorists, being suicide bombers, have already eliminated
themselves.
Perhaps Mr Bush needs to wipe out everyone who could possibly be a future terrorist? Maybe he can't be sure he's achieved his objective until every Muslim fundamentalist is dead? But then some moderate Muslims might convert to fundamentalism. Maybe the only really safe thing to do would be for Mr Bush to eliminate all Muslims?
It's the same in my street. Mr Johnson and Mr Patel are just the tip of the iceberg. There are dozens of other people in the street who I don't like and who - quite frankly - look at me in odd ways. No one will be really safe until I've wiped them all out. My wife says I might be going too far but I tell her I'm simply using the same logic as the President of the United States. That shuts her up.
Like Mr Bush, I've run out of patience, and if that's a good enough reason for the President, it's good enough for me. I'm going to give the whole street two weeks - no, 10 days - to come out in the open and hand over all aliens and interplanetary hijackers, galactic outlaws and interstellar terrorist masterminds, and if they don't hand them over nicely and say 'Thank you', I'm going to bomb the entire street to kingdom come. It's just as sane as what George W. Bush is proposing - and, in contrast to what he's intending, my policy will destroy only one street.//

[*intrigued*.. is that 'limp' as in walking awkwardly, or 'limp' as in 'tired'?
*bright eyes* Not long 'til 'lestrel's home... time to start making the bower nice and put in pre-order with the Canteen...]
Oooh! Love the R cake decoration, Joules! Goodtwin's friend did a great job! *covetcovet* Tch, feel like a sugar fix now...
Went to see 'Singin' in the Rain' and 'An American in Paris' last night with Niki, Soulsis and Aaron.
SITR was brilliant, really good seeing it on the big screen, caught loads of nuances and subtle facial expressions that aren't as clear on a tv screen. AAIP was less than brilliant, unfortunately; I get the impression Mr Kelly was indulged somewhat in that production. It all gets a bit surreal and ultimately pointless towards the end and it has the quickest and most unsatisfying resolution in any movie I've seen. Still, Leslie Caron was pretty enough, I suppose, for a chipmunk (no, seriously, little round cheeks and buck-teeth are just precious on rodents, not necessarily on humans) and Gene Kelly had a lovely bum. There was one line, though, that had the audience laughing out loud. The hero - on the rebound - asks the secondary female lead (who has a thing for him) out to a party. She goes all breathless and stupid with delight and says: "I feel like a woman for a change!" Tee hee hee. Don't we all, darlin', don't we all...
Okapi sent me this website. ROFLMAO!! I have dozens of those soy sauce fish lurking about in cupboards and jars...
And Soulsis sent me this.
The pics in the gallery were off-putting enough - couldn't bring myself to read any of the fics.
Picked up a program for the 13th Annual Melbourne Queer Film Festival last night. Most likely won't be able to go see anything but it was very interesting reading what was on. Mostly American docos and movies it seemed, but a fair slathering of Asian (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese) Euro (English, Irish, Finnish, Danish) and some Australian pieces. The anime Revolutionary Girl Utenna is screening a couple of times - seen some artwork from that and it looks gorgeous. Like to watch that some time, and there's a Bollywood picture, Mango Souffle which looks like a lot of fun - got a soft spot for Bollywood movies... Ah well, if I can bestir myself to organise baby-sitters - and I can afford it - I might get to go and see something this year...
