You know how you have those days when you just don't want to interact with anyone - you just want to be left alone to get on with things? Today was one of those days but unfortunately I'd promised to take the cubs to the museum.
Wasn't all bad, though it did get a bit wearing being ordered hither and yon by their Imperious Majesties. Got to see the short 3D Mars movie again, twice, which was very soothing and in the Children's museum they had a hands on display of lovely minerals and one of those big, lit, magnifying glasses to view them with. Felt very calm looking at these bits of rock, especially the large quartz spear, could've stayed there for ages gazing into its depths, but.. I am summoned, I obey. *rolls eyes*.
There's a pseudo-billabong/creek thing in one area of the museum, and we went there to see the eels being fed. That was kind of cute in a wet, slippery, sharp-toothed sort of way. :)
Eventually managed to drag the cubs out of the museum ('ooooh! No, let's do X first!) and onto the train where they came to a shuddering halt from weariness, only to get to the bus-stop to find we had an hour to wait for the next bus. Tried to persuade the cubs that it'd be quicker to walk home rather than wait for the bus, even if there was a mucking great hill to climb, but they'd have none of it.
We got home much later than I'd planned and I was running a little ragged by the end of it all.
But there was a fascinating documentary tonight about the food in Tudor times and that made up for a lot of crap. :) Plus I managed to get another hours worth of weeding done this evening - again, helped by KittenKong. ('Yes, cat, I pulled up that bunch of weeds especially to loosen the soil so you could use it as a litter tray...')
